Cinderella_NightSongsAlthough Cinderella’s 1986 debut may have initially showed signs of struggle, it wasn’t long until Night Songs hit it big and propelled the band into glam super stardom.

Things didn’t look great for band as their first single “Shake Me” was a total commercial bust, however once they realized that ballads were ‘it’, “Nobody’s Fool” did the trick and helped bring Cinderella to the forefront of the glam metal scene. Their initial success can also be credited in part to Jon Bon Jovi- the man who arguably discovered Cinderella after a gig in Philadelphia and brought them on their first tour, in support of his 1985 release Slippery When Wet. Having Bon Jovi behind the band and providing backing vocals for their debut record, Cinderella’s Night Songs eventually went on to become triple platinum, making it their most commercially successful next to their following release Long Cold Winter.

Night Songs is often referred to as a hard rock/heavy metal record by many, however looking past their glam appearance it was clear that the record was also fairly blues orientedand you can see the band kept with the bluesy theme as their 1988 release was even more heavily influenced by blues rock.
